First- I am having major trouble consuming 110 grams of protein daily. Being a strength trainee, this is the minimum I need, but I really should being eating much more. Getting enough protein by eating peanut butter, beans/lentils, and soy sends my calories through the stratosphere. Then, eating that amount of beans/lentils means I am getting around 60 grams/daily of fiber. Needless to say, that much fiber has destroyed my digestion. Second, and infinitely worse- my libido has dropped to nearly zero. I am following a very high quality Vegan meal plan and taking the recommended supplements, including all the B vitamins, zinc, magnesium and vitamin D, so this development has surprised me. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

So your pasta is vegetarian surely? Isn’t vegan only eating / using products that have not come from an animal? How can it possibly be vegan if it says may contain. I know it’s been stated as a cop out for company’s but to me it’s like saying I’ll have a vegan burger, then a restaurant cooking it on a grill that other beef burgers have been cooked on. To me now that’s no longer vegan but if the restaurant marked it up as may contain you’d be okay with that?

I saw a MAY CONTAIN EGGS label, and I was quite frightened before I read this. Now I can eat my pasta in peace. Namaste! 🙏

Hi Terry! Yeast is a single-celled organism which as you mentioned, is a fungus. We have no issues with eating it as vegans. We don't consume honey or use products with honey in them due to various issues with the manufacturing process, environmental concerns, animal exploitation (albeit less worrisome than meat/eggs/dairy, in my opinion). As far as bread is concerned, other ingredients such as eggs, milk, whey, casein are non-vegan and may be ingredients in various breads.

Yeast being a fungus is more closely related to animal life than plant life. Secondly I keep bees and was wondering if vegans do not eat honey (because it exploits animals), why they accept the work of crop pollinators? Thirdly in terms of exploitation why do vegans eat a growing quantity of cashew nuts, which exploit women in India as shell removers?
